About us
Dr Ana Jordan
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Lincoln, UK. My work examines the politics of masculinity in a variety of contexts, including gender-based violence, men’s movements, fatherhood, and suicide and have published extensively in these areas. I am a qualitative researcher and have collaborated on mixed methods, interdisciplinary research. I have researched student perspectives on gender-based violence in universities and led the ‘Policies on gender-based violence in UK universities: Understanding current practice, mapping future directions’ project (with Sundari Anitha). I am currently working on two externally funded projects: Caregiving Dads, Breadwinning Mums: Routes and barriers to greater gender equality in caring responsibilities (funded by the Nuffield Foundation) https://organisingworkandchildcare.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/ and Suicide in/as Politics (funded by the Leverhulme Trust) https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/suicide-in-as-politics/.

Professor Sundari Anitha
I am Professor of Gender, Violence and Work at University of Lincoln, UK. My research interests lie in two areas: the problem of violence against women and girls (VAWG); and gender, race and ethnicity in employment relations. I have published widely in both areas. I previously managed a Women’s Aid refuge and am a trustee of Asha (a ‘by and for’ domestic abuse service for South Asian women) and have been engaged in activism and policy-making to tackle VAWG for over two decades. I am Associate Editor of Women’s Studies International Forum, and serve on the editorial boards of Violence Against Women and British Journal of Criminology. I was a member of the REF2021 Sociology sub panel.

Dr Nicola Chanamuto
I am a Lecturer in the Lincoln Academy of Learning and Teaching at the University of Lincoln, UK, where I teach on the Academic Professional Apprenticeship and manage the HEA recognition scheme for staff. My background is in sociology and migration studies; I am a qualitative researcher interested in themes of gender, care and migration. My doctoral research looks at the experiences of women migrants working in the UK. I also work on the Nuffield-funded project, ‘Caregiving Dads, Breadwinning Mums: Routes and barriers to greater gender equality in caring responsibilities.’ Prior to (re)entering higher education, I worked in range of voluntary sector organisations, focussing on outreach to less-heard and marginalised groups.
